The Golden Gate Bridge gets all the attention but the Bay Bridge is a double decked monster that moves much more traffic into the city. In 1989 the bridge dumped a car into the San Francisco Bay after being rocked by the 6.9 earthquake.

Our Situation

After almost 3 weeks on the road, we were so busy catching up on Season 2 of the Jersey Shore that I didn’t have time to post at all yesterday. The Sopranos gave New Jersey such a bad name so its really great that people can now see what life is really like in New Jersey. Hat’s off to MTV for providing such great reality television programing.

This massive multitude of miles makes my mega-mountain-monopoly melt my memory…maybe its too much?

We’ve decided to skip Redwoods National Park and head straight to the Bay Area to see my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. We’ve seen a lot of trees and mountains on this trip and to be honest, after 5,200 miles (and still going strong) they all start to blend together. I’m really looking forward to showing Vera northern California and hangin out with my family there.
If your wondering about the pics, the odometer reading on the first from the GPS is short because we haven’t kept it on the entire time. The trip counter on the other pic reads 1,215.5 because it resets every 2,000 miles so it should say 5,215. Right now it reads 1,221.4, I’ll give you a dollar if you can calculate how many words per mile I type @ 70mph (don’t worry, Vera is driving).

Apparently the Governator keeps things locked down. We’ve been through 11 states not including NJ and 2 canadian provinces and this is the first interstate border inspection.

On the road again…

We got a late start today so we didn’t end up leaving Boring, Oregon until 2:00pm. The tentative plan is to camp in Cresent City, California near Redwoods National Park. Stay tuned.
